Sure Shot Geological is a reputable and innovative organization in the oil and gas sector dedicated to professionalism, transparency and Safety. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated APEGA registered geologist to join our team.
As a geologist, you will play a critical role in building trust and credibility with our long term partnerships/clients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological surveys, investigations, and assessments to gather data and analyze geological formations, structures, and resources.
- Perform fieldwork, including geological mapping, sampling, and data collection.
- Utilize advanced geoscience software and tools to analyze and interpret geological data, such as GIS, remote sensing, and modeling software.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks and hazards associated with geological conditions and propose mitigation measures.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports, including data analysis, interpretations, and recommendations for further actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers, to provide geological insights and expertise.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to geology and geoscience.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during geological activities.
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, ensuring geological objectives are met within defined timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and other team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
Requirements:
- APEGA registered professional geologist designation (P.Geo) is mandatory.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in geology, geological engineering, or a related field.
- Years of relevant experience in geology, with a strong understanding of geological principles, processes, and practices.
- Must be incorporated - contractor/consultant.
- Preference is given to those with experience drilling the mannville group of W3/W4 and working with wellsite systems.
- Proficient in using geoscience software and tools, such as GIS, remote sensing, and geological modeling software.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting geological surveys, mapping, and data interpretation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geological data and make informed decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present geological findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Willingness to travel to field sites and work in various environmental conditions.
- 3 man rotation.
